‘Devi’

Someone that teaches us unconditionally. Who bears no judgment of our choices, good or bad. She is our spiritual guide.

This piece was a study drawn from a found photograph. I saw wisdom and a quiet knowing in her face which inspired my feeling of the photograph.

I took that feeling and breathed it into my interpretation of this portrait.

This piece was my deepest exploration into my drawing method to date. She took 40 years to complete and is sistered with Great Mother.
