‘Bru’
On a visit from Canada, My cousin, Bru, came to stay. ‘Bru’ is a drawing from a photo taken in my flat. In true art student fashion, we had a tie-dye sheet draped over the window for a curtain. We can also just about make out ‘Untitled 1’ hanging on the wall (the original piece that launched my drawing style).
Created around the same time as ‘Jaffna Man’ and ‘Sleep’, I continued with the exploration of space around the focal points. This time with a bit more of a literal interpretation of a real space, where the darkest areas are simply the shadowed side of the doorway we are looking though.
