‘Holy Man’
On a trip to Sri Lanka in 2003, I visited a temple set up by a one of my great aunts who is a local saint. This man was one of the residents.
One of my lasting impressions of Sri Lanka is of the textiles being created. In particular a shop in Columbo called Barefoot with a selection of shirts, saris and sarongs with amazing designs in vibrant colours and patterns.
Holy Jaffna Man is the first in series I am working on, which is a celebration of Sri Lankan textiles and patterns, the people he met in Sri Lanka and, of course, continuing his exploration of meditation and space.
